More than a dozen years ago I was tasked with designing eye-catching ads to launch a retention program while juggling referral and leasing promotions that would attract new residents. I often slapped my palm across my forehead in frustration and wondered, “Why is there not a website to do this for me?”
Meanwhile, across town Paulina was responsible for marketing and training at a property management firm struggling to get resources to onsite teams with fast, efficient marketing plans that fit the company’s professional image. She often wished for a website to do it all for her.
I had a hunch others in the multifamily industry needed the same tools as me so I created an online library and filled it with all my favorite marketing campaigns. With software developers and professional graphic designers on board, Hello Resident launched to a sigh of relief from apartment marketers everywhere.
It was kismet the day Paulina rounded the corner at an industry tradeshow in Seattle and bumped into my vendor booth. It was the end of the day, and even though I already kicked off my heels, I jumped at the chance to tell my story one more time when I heard Paulina ask, “What’s this? I love it!”
Paulina became the first corporate customer rolling out memberships across an entire 200+ property portfolio. With her requests feeding the campaign wish list, the library grew bigger and more targeted to meet the needs of onsite teams in the field.
Today we’ve come full circle as partners in Hello Resident and spend our days delighting members with clever, creative marketing campaigns and cool software tricks.
